So it's been a decade since this story came to life on the big screen. At the time, I remember thinking how much I loved Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep. It was the trifecta of style and talent and I wanted to share with all of my #wlbstylecrew which looks made my heart skip a beat back in the day.
ANNE HATHAWAY/ANDY SACHS
This one was my favorite for a lot of reasons, but mostly because of how chic and easy the look was. Black silk shift, black tailored jacket, tons of gold chains (lucky girl, Chanel was dripping from her neck) and black suede knee high boots. You can easily recreate this look now and still look fashion forward a decade later.
EMILY BLUNT/EMILY CHARLTON
Yes, she was terribly rude, but she was dedicated to a fashion forward look. It was a toss up between this look and her fabulous Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress (you know the one - the piece she's wearing when Andy emerges after her makeover with Nigel) but I love the juxtaposition of the rock and roll edge and the classic silhouette. Her character may have been nasty, but she looked chic and edgy. That's not an easy look to pull off.
MERYL STREEP/MIRANDA PRIESTLY
Striking fear into the hearts of audiences and characters alike, the phenomenon that is Meryl Streep looked sophisticated, elegant and ruthless. I loved the unexpected hue of a deep eggplant in the rich fur with an office ready look that makes everyone around her sit up and take notice. From the sunglasses to the shoes, everything about this ensemble is on point.
As Miranda Priestly would say, "That's all."
